Singapore Airlines Buying stakes off China Eastern

Singapore decided on a move to buy China Eastern Airline make me ponder on their move: are they siao a not? How come so desperate?

Recently, on my trip Via China Eastern Airline, I took note of their service. They actually improved. Maybe this was an act to ensure that Singapore will buy it off. Currently, Tamasek Holdings and Singapore Airlines are bidding for it. But siao eh, $1 billion USD, you all got think properly a not? This kind of money you sure is well spent?

But then you think again, now China is the super boomer in world economy, it's not a bad decision to own a part of the pie. Their last try in doing something like this earn a huge scandal in Thailand. Now what, Thaktsin also hiding in England issit? But thaktsin power okay, he can even attempt to try buy English Premier Club Manchester City.

Our government dunno why so siao one. Habent lose enough money in Suzhou Development issit? Now want to choot stunt again.

Aiyuh I don't care what they doing. As long, Singapore and China can cater more services and choices let me go home cheaper, I don;t mind. But KNN lor, the proposed tiger airways fly Shanghai, until now still dunno why havent settle. I study here almost complete my course already. I don';t think I will see it happening soon. broods

My dear Singapore government, if you ever do manage to hold a 1/4 call in China Eastern, Pls also ensure they fly on time, dont let me wait too long in airports again. Also, bring in more pretty girls as air stewardess la. China Eastern got some quite chio babes in their flights to Korea. I am sure when you take over some stocks can improve the service and increase more chiobus. Don't pway pway and disappoint me hor!

eh does that mean China Eastern Airline will also become Star Alliance? Swee, I love to see them happen also!

chinaeastern.jpgEven while Shanghaiist is waiting with bated breath for direct flights to the east coast, China Eastern Airlines is set to sell a 25 percent stake to Singapore Airlines, the world's largest carrier by market capitalisation, for HK$7.9 billion (US$1 billion) worth of new shares. In the meanwhile, Temasek Holdings Pte, Singapore's state-owned investment arm with $85 billion of assets, may join Singapore Airlines in its bid for a stake. China Eastern suffered a net loss of 2.8 billion yuan in 2006, thereby gaining the dubious honour of becoming the only one of China's three state-owned airlines to report a loss last year. Whatever it is, one can only hope this means better inflight service, better food, fewer delays and fewer cancellations for passengers.
